Why Clone Instead of Code?

ZF 8HP mechatronics are paired to the vehicle's immobiliser (EWS/CAS on BMW, component protection on Audi/VW). A used replacement won't work until it's married to your car — which normally means a dealer visit, online coding and a hefty bill. Cloning copies the complete data set (VIN, immobiliser pairing, calibration and adaptations) from your original TCM to the replacement, so it drops in and drives with no coding at all.

What You Need to Send

• Your original 8HP45 mechatronic / TCM (even if it has failed — we can usually still read it)
• The replacement unit with the same part number
• Both clearly labelled "Original" and "Replacement", plus your VIN and contact details

If your original is completely unreadable we'll tell you before any further chargeable work — only a small test & return fee applies in that case.

2. 2 Drop the gearbox sump, remove the mechatronic unit and drain it (we can guide you through this — or use our Enfield workshop drop-off option)
3. 3 Post it securely to our repair centre:

4. 4 We read your original, clone the full data set to the replacement and verify it on the bench
5. 5 Your unit is returned via tracked delivery, ready to refit
