What is the VW DQ380?

The DQ380 is a 6-speed wet dual-clutch DSG gearbox developed for hybrid and high torque VAG group applications. It is closely related to the DQ381 but calibrated for hybrid drivetrain integration. The mechatronic unit manages all gearbox control functions and is subject to the same internal failure patterns as other VAG group DSG mechatronic units — solenoid wear, circuit board component degradation and hydraulic system contamination.
