The head unit sends audio signals to the ACM which amplifies them before sending to the speakers. When the ACM develops an internal fault — capacitor degradation, MOSFET transistor failure or solder joint fracture — audio output stops completely. The head unit display and controls continue working because they are not affected by the ACM failure.
