Renault UCM BCM Module Fault — Repair and Cloning | The Vehicle Check
Renault uses a UCH (Unite Centrale Habitacle) or UCM (Unite de Commande Moteur) body control module that is a frequent source of electrical faults across the Clio, Megane, Scenic, Laguna, Zafira and Kangoo range. When the Renault UCH or UCM fails — whether from a voltage event, water ingress or component degradation — the result is typically a no-start condition, complete loss of central locking, multiple simultaneous dashboard warnings or a vehicle that appears completely dead. The Vehicle Check repairs and clones Renault UCH and UCM modules at component level.
Common Renault UCH and UCM Faults
The Renault Megane II UCH is notorious for failure — particularly on 2002 to 2008 models. Symptoms include no interior electrics, failure to start, complete central locking failure, the key not being recognised and all dashboard gauges dropping to zero. Renault Clio III and Scenic II UCH faults follow the same pattern.
The UCH contains the immobiliser, vehicle access, lighting control and communication gateway in one module. When it fails the vehicle is typically immobilised completely — no diagnostics can communicate with any module because the gateway is down.
Repair and Cloning for Renault UCH and UCM
We repair Renault UCH and UCM modules at component level — replacing failed power regulation components, memory chips and communication transceivers. Where the module is beyond economical repair, we clone the original data to a tested donor UCH, preserving key coding, mileage, VIN and all vehicle-specific data.
We cover Clio II, Clio III, Megane II, Megane III, Scenic II, Laguna II, Zafira (Renault-based), Kangoo and Trafic UCH and UCM variants.
