Peugeot 2-Tronic Clutch Actuator Fault and Repair | The Vehicle Check
The Peugeot 2-Tronic is the automated single-clutch manual gearbox fitted to the 107, 206 CC, 206+, 207 and 1007. When the 2-Tronic clutch actuator fails the gearbox judges violently on take-off, refuses to change gear and eventually defaults to limp mode. The clutch actuator shares the same Magneti Marelli design as the Citroen SensoDrive, Fiat Dualogic and Alfa Selespeed — making our repair experience directly applicable. The Vehicle Check repairs Peugeot 2-Tronic actuators at component level via our nationwide mail-in service.
2-Tronic Fault Symptoms by Model
The Peugeot 107 2-Tronic and 206+ 2-Tronic share an identical actuator assembly. The 207 2-Tronic uses an updated variant with the same failure modes. Common symptoms are: jerky gear changes that worsen progressively, a refusal to select any gear, the gearbox warning light illuminating and eventually a complete loss of drive.
Fault codes stored include clutch position adaptation errors, actuator motor circuit faults and gear selection control errors, all of which point directly to the actuator rather than the clutch or gearbox internals.
Component-Level 2-Tronic Actuator Repair
We strip the 2-Tronic actuator, test DC motor, Hall sensor, PCB assembly and mechanism independently and repair the specific failed component. DC motor replacement is the most common repair, followed by Hall sensor replacement.
Post-repair calibration sets the correct engagement and disengagement positions. All units are bench tested before return.
