Why York Drivers Need Module Cloning

Every ECU, BCM, BSI and body control module contains vehicle-specific data that must match across all of the car's control systems. Fit a used module without transferring this data and the car will flag immobiliser warnings, refuse to start or behave erratically — even if the replacement unit is mechanically identical.

Cloning transfers the full dataset from your original module onto the replacement — immobiliser data, VIN, adaptation values and calibration settings. The car recognises the new module immediately. We carry this out via our postal service: post both units to us and we return them cloned and verified in 2–3 working days.

ECU Cloning

Transfer immobiliser data, VIN matching and all learned adaptation values from your original ECU to a replacement unit. Avoids expensive dealer programming.

BCM Cloning

Body control module cloning transfers key pairing data, lighting and comfort settings. Essential when fitting a used BCM to avoid immobiliser lockout.

BSI and UCH Cloning

Peugeot and Citroen BSI, Renault UCH — modules that hold the entire electronic identity of the vehicle. We clone these accurately without risking lockout.

ISM and DSM Cloning

Mercedes selector modules hold mileage and configuration data. We clone these with full pre and post-clone data verification.

York Customer Questions

Does the replacement need to be the same part number?

It must be the same or a compatible equivalent. Call us before purchasing a replacement — we'll advise on compatibility.

What if the original module is dead?

Some dead modules can still be read at chip level. We assess on receipt and advise if cloning isn't possible — no charge either way.

Is module cloning legal?

Yes — cloning your own module data onto a replacement for your own vehicle is entirely legal. We do not clone for any unlawful purpose.
