Honda Jazz 1.4 iDSI ECU Misfire Fault — Repair Specialist | The Vehicle Check
The Honda Jazz 1.4 iDSI engine uses a dual sequential ignition system with two spark plugs per cylinder. The ECU manages two sets of injector drivers and two sets of ignition outputs — giving the iDSI ECU twice the potential failure points of the standard 1.2 DSi unit. When any of these driver stages fail, misfire codes, rough idle and loss of performance result. The Vehicle Check specialises in Honda Jazz iDSI ECU diagnosis and component-level repair.
iDSI ECU — More Complex Than the Standard Jazz ECU
The 1.4 iDSI system fires two plugs per cylinder in sequence — one early in the intake stroke and one near top dead centre. The ECU coordinates this sequence through dual driver circuits per cylinder. When one driver stage fails the combustion event is disrupted but not absent, which can produce a misfire that is harder to pin to a specific cylinder than a complete driver failure.
Common fault codes include P0300 (random misfire), P0301–P0304 (cylinder-specific misfires) and injector circuit codes P0201–P0204.
Specialist iDSI ECU Repair
We have extensive experience with the Honda Jazz iDSI ECU and understand the specific dual-driver failure modes. We bench test the iDSI ECU using its specific parameters and identify which of the eight driver channels (two per cylinder) have failed.
The repaired iDSI ECU returns with all original vehicle coding intact. No dealer programming required.
