Most garages plug in an OBD reader, see a transmission fault code and quote for a new mechatronic or a gearbox rebuild. We go further. We test the mechatronic unit at component level — checking individual solenoids, pressure sensors and valve body operation — to find exactly what failed and why. In the majority of cases the repair is to the original unit, not a replacement.
Our Enfield workshop handles DSG mechatronics, ZF automatic transmissions, clutch actuators, automated manual gearboxes and all associated gearbox electronics. Drive in and we handle everything in a single visit.
DSG Mechatronic Diagnosis

How a Workshop Appointment Works
Book by phone or contact form — we confirm your appointment slot and provide the full workshop address. Arrive at the agreed time and hand the vehicle to your dedicated gearbox specialist. They run a full electronic diagnostic — not just code reading but active testing of the transmission's control systems — and present you with a clear explanation of what they've found and what the repair involves.
The repair follows on the same visit in the vast majority of cases. You leave with a written report, a 12-month warranty on all work and a car that drives as it should.

Can I wait at the workshop while the car is repaired?
Yes — we'll keep you updated throughout. Most gearbox electronic repairs take 2–4 hours, though this varies depending on the fault and transmission type.
What if the car can't be driven?
Contact us and we'll discuss options. In some cases the module can be removed and posted to us — we advise on the best route once we know the fault.
