Ford BCM Body Control Module Cloning — Mail-In UK

Ford BCM Body Control Module Cloning — Mail It to Us from Anywhere in the UK
Your Ford has gone quiet in all the wrong ways. Central locking stopped responding. Interior lights doing whatever they please. Dashboard warnings stacking up with no obvious cause. Half the time, the car won't even communicate properly with a diagnostic tool. If that sounds familiar, your body control module — the BCM — is almost certainly at the centre of it.
At The Vehicle Check, we clone Ford BCMs every week. We've been doing it for years across a huge range of Ford models, and our nationwide mail-in service means you don't need to be anywhere near Enfield to get it sorted. Pop your module in a box, send it to us, and we'll have it cloned and back with you — fully functional — in 3 to 5 working days.
No Ford dealer. No main agent bill. No waiting weeks for a programmed replacement that costs more than it should.
What Does Ford BCM Cloning Actually Do?
BCM cloning transfers every piece of vehicle-specific data from your original module into a replacement unit, so the new BCM behaves exactly like the one it's replacing. Your Ford's VIN, key coding data, configuration settings, mileage information and security parameters all travel across to the new unit intact.
This matters because Ford BCMs are not off-the-shelf plug-and-play components. Fit an uncoded replacement and your car won't recognise it — you'll be left with a non-starting vehicle, persistent fault codes, or a module that simply refuses to communicate. Cloning sidesteps all of that. The replacement unit wakes up knowing exactly what vehicle it's in and how that vehicle is supposed to behave.
It's the same outcome a Ford dealer would give you, without the five-figure parts order and the week-long booking wait.
Which Ford Models Does Our BCM Cloning Cover?
We work on body control modules across the full Ford range — including some of the models that other workshops quietly turn away.
- Ford Fiesta (all generations including MK6, MK7, MK8)
- Ford Focus (MK2, MK3, MK4)
- Ford Mondeo (MK4, MK5)
- Ford Transit and Transit Connect
- Ford Kuga (MK1, MK2, MK3)
- Ford EcoSport
- Ford S-Max and Galaxy
- Ford Ranger (T6, T7, T8)
- Ford C-Max and Grand C-Max
- Ford Edge
Not sure whether your specific variant is covered? Call us on 0203 489 2610 before you post anything. We'd rather have that two-minute conversation than have you send something we can't help with.
Our team has hands-on experience with Ford electronics spanning more than a decade, covering everything from early CAN-bus systems through to the more complex SYNC-integrated modules found on recent models. That depth of experience means we're rarely caught out by unusual configurations or non-standard builds.
Why Does Mail-In Beat Going to a Ford Dealer?
Sending your BCM to us by post is genuinely better than the dealer route in almost every measurable way — and we're not just saying that.
Cost. Ford dealers charge for the replacement unit, the programming labour, the diagnostic time and — if your car needs to be recovered in — the collection fee. Our mail-in service cuts the majority of that out entirely.
Speed. A dealer booking for a BCM job can run to two or three weeks depending on parts availability. Our turnaround is 3–5 working days from receipt. For most Ford models, we're quicker than that.
Expertise. We work on automotive electronics exclusively. BCM cloning isn't a sideline for us — it's one of the core services we've built our reputation on. A franchise dealer technician is generalist by necessity. We're specialists by choice.
Convenience. You don't have to arrange a courtesy car, take a day off work, or explain yourself to a service advisor who doesn't quite understand what cloning means. You pack a box and check your emails a few days later.

How Do You Package Your Ford BCM for Posting?
Packaging your module correctly takes about three minutes and protects it completely — follow these steps and it'll arrive with us in perfect condition.
- Wrap the module in bubble wrap. Two or three layers around the unit itself. BCMs are robust but connectors can catch on packaging materials if they're left exposed.
- Place it in a rigid box. A small cardboard box with at least 2–3cm of padding around the module on all sides. Don't use a padded envelope alone for something this important.
- Include a note inside the box. Write your full name, phone number, vehicle registration, and a brief description of the symptoms you've been experiencing. This saves time on both ends.
- Use a tracked postal service. Royal Mail Tracked 48 or 24, ParcelForce, DPD — anything with a tracking number. Keep the receipt until your module is back with you.
- Address it to: The Vehicle Check, Office 13, 25 Mollison Avenue, Enfield, EN3 7LW.
We'll email you when the module arrives and again when it's dispatched back to you. Return postage is included — we cover that as standard, no catches.
What Faults Point to a BCM Problem on a Ford?
Ford BCM faults can present in dozens of different ways, which is part of what makes them so frustrating to diagnose without the right equipment. Common signs that your BCM needs cloning or repair include:
- Central locking not responding or operating intermittently
- Interior lighting faults — lights staying on, not coming on, or flickering
- Multiple unrelated warning lights appearing simultaneously
- No communication between the BCM and the diagnostic tool (U-code faults)
- Power windows, heated seats or mirrors behaving erratically
- Vehicle not starting despite the key being recognised
- Loss of PATS (Passive Anti-Theft System) function
- Instrument cluster going blank or displaying incorrect data
If your diagnostic scan is throwing up U0140 (lost communication with body control module) or U1900 codes, that's a strong indicator the BCM itself is the problem rather than a downstream component.
BCM issues don't always start dramatically. Sometimes it's a gradual creep — one function stops working, then another, then the fault codes start stacking. If your Ford is presenting a pattern like that, don't let it run. The longer a failing BCM is left in circuit, the greater the risk of corrupted data that makes cloning more complex.
Is Ford BCM Cloning Related to ECU Work?
There's overlap, yes — both involve reading, transferring and writing secure vehicle data. If your Ford has both a BCM fault and an ECU issue, we can handle both through the same mail-in process. Take a look at our ECU repair and cloning service for more detail on that side of things.
Similarly, if you've got ABS module concerns alongside your BCM fault — which does happen when water ingress or wiring damage is involved — we cover that too. Our ABS module repair service operates on the same mail-in basis.
Ready to Send Your Ford BCM to Us?
The process is straightforward: package it up, post it tracked, and we'll do the rest. If you've got questions before you commit — about compatibility, pricing, or anything else — the easiest thing is to call us directly on 0203 489 2610 or use our contact page.
We're based in Enfield and serve customers across the entire UK. If you happen to be within about 60 miles of EN3, you're also welcome to drive in — but the mail-in service works just as well from Aberdeen as it does from Andover.
Your Ford doesn't need a main dealer to get this right. It needs the right specialist.
