Ford ACM Amplifier Fault — Rear Speakers Not Working | The Vehicle Check
Loss of sound from the rear speakers only — while the front speakers continue to work normally — is a specific and common Ford ACM amplifier failure mode. The ACM drives front and rear speaker zones through separate output channels. When the rear channel output stage fails, front audio continues normally while the rear is completely silent. The Vehicle Check repairs Ford ACM rear speaker faults at component level across all Ford models.
Why Rear Speakers Fail on Ford ACM Units
The rear output stage in the Ford ACM uses dedicated power transistors and driver ICs that can fail due to age, thermal stress or a partial short in the speaker wiring. The fault typically progresses from reduced rear volume, to intermittent dropout, to complete rear channel silence.
In some cases a failed protection relay in the ACM has latched open on the rear channel only — a component-level repair that restores rear audio without replacing the whole unit.
Full Bench Test Across All Channels
We bench test every Ford ACM across all output channels before and after repair — front left, front right, rear left, rear right and subwoofer where fitted. This confirms both the original fault and the repair result.
We cover all Ford models: Focus, Mondeo, S-Max, Galaxy, C-Max, Kuga, Fiesta, Transit and more.
