Ford EcoSport ACM No Sound Fault — Amplifier Repair Specialist | The Vehicle Check

A very common Ford Audio Control Module fault is complete loss of sound after a battery replacement or battery disconnect. When the vehicle battery is disconnected the ACM module can lose its configuration data, fail to reinitialise correctly or develop an internal voltage fault that prevents normal operation. This fault affects Ford Focus, Mondeo, S-Max, Galaxy, C-Max, Kuga and other Ford models fitted with the ACM amplifier. The Vehicle Check repairs Ford ACM units at component level — we do not simply swap boards. Our nationwide mail-in service covers the whole of the UK.

Why the ACM Fails After a Battery Change

The Ford ACM contains capacitors and internal power regulation circuits that are sensitive to voltage spikes and sudden power loss. When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, the resulting inrush current can damage internal components. In some cases the module simply needs a configuration reset — but in others, capacitors or power regulation ICs have failed and the unit needs component-level repair.

Symptoms include complete silence from all speakers, the display showing normally, the radio appearing to function but producing no audio output, and occasionally a clicking or popping noise on startup.

Our ACM Repair Process

We bench test every Ford ACM unit before and after repair. Our engineers identify the exact failed component — whether that is a blown capacitor, failed op-amp, damaged power IC or faulty audio processor — and replace it with a correctly rated component. The unit is then fully tested across all channels before return.

We cover all Ford ACM variants including the Continental-manufactured units fitted to Focus MK2, MK3, Mondeo MK4 and the larger Sony and premium audio units fitted to S-Max and Galaxy.
