Ford ACM Amplifier — No Bass From Speakers | The Vehicle Check
Complete absence of bass from a Ford's audio system — while treble and mid-range continue normally — indicates a specific fault in the ACM's bass amplifier output stage. This differs from general audio loss and points to the dedicated low-frequency amplifier circuit inside the ACM. The Vehicle Check repairs Ford ACM bass faults at component level. We identify whether the cause is a failed output transistor, open circuit capacitor or protection circuit activation and repair the exact fault.
Why Bass Disappears on Ford ACM Systems
The Ford ACM uses a separate amplifier stage for low-frequency (bass) output. This stage handles higher current demands than the satellite speaker channels, making its output transistors more susceptible to failure over time. When the bass output transistor fails, treble and mid-range audio from the other channels continues normally.
In some cases the bass output has been disabled by the ACM's internal protection circuit in response to a detected fault. The protection circuit then needs to be reset as part of the repair.
Component-Level Bass Repair
We bench test the ACM with audio test signals at low frequencies, identify the failed output transistor or capacitor in the bass stage and replace it with a correctly rated component. The unit is retested across the full bass frequency range before return.
We cover Focus, Mondeo, S-Max, Galaxy, C-Max, Kuga and all other Ford models with ACM-based bass and subwoofer systems.
