Over time — particularly on high-mileage vehicles or those with older plastic ribbon contacts — the internal ribbon track cracks or the connector pins corrode. The result is an open circuit on the driver airbag loop, which immediately triggers a fault.

Do Impact Sensors Cause the SRS Warning Light to Come On?
